Before-and-after example. Finished results may vary depending on the condition of your vehicle’s headlights.
Why headlights turn yellow—and why acting early matters
Prolonged UV exposure is a major cause of headlight yellowing and fading. As the factory protective coating deteriorates, the plastic lens becomes more vulnerable to oxidation. Yellowed headlights can make an otherwise well-kept vehicle look older.
Continued weathering can lead to fine cracks and deeper deterioration. Restoring suitable lenses early can help avoid reaching a condition that exterior restoration can no longer correct.
Replacement can be expensive, especially when access requires substantial disassembly. Some exotic-vehicle headlight replacements can cost several thousand dollars. Actual parts and labor costs vary by vehicle.
We assess each light before recommending restoration. Deep fractures, internal haze, moisture inside the housing, and lighting faults may require separate repair or replacement.
Rhino’s restoration method: restore, then protect
We restore the lens surface, then apply clear PPF to protect the refreshed finish. The film adds a physical barrier that helps reduce damage from road debris, rock chips, and minor scratches.
We have tested and refined our method for more than 15 years, with strong results in restoration durability and clarity. That experience is the foundation of our seven-year warranty against re-oxidation.
PPF helps reduce impact damage, but it cannot prevent every chip, crack, or projectile impact. Learn more about headlight protection film from XPEL.
From assessment to protection
1. Assess the lenses. We review the exterior condition and discuss what restoration can realistically achieve.
2. Restore the surface. Preparation and refinishing are selected to suit the lens material and condition.
3. Apply clear PPF. Once the surface is suitable, protective film is fitted to the agreed headlight coverage.
4. Review the result. We inspect the finish and explain settling, cleaning, and aftercare before pickup.
Seven-year protection against re-oxidation
Rhino’s Special Method Headlight Restoration with clear PPF includes a seven-year Rhino warranty against re-oxidation. This is Rhino’s restoration warranty, separate from any applicable film manufacturer warranty.
The re-oxidation warranty is not a promise that the headlight cannot be damaged by an impact. Contact Rhino if you notice renewed oxidation or a change in lens clarity so we can assess the issue.
Follow the aftercare instructions provided at pickup, including when to wash the vehicle after installation. Use compatible cleaning products and avoid abrasive polishing or aggressive cleaning at the film edges.
