Style and protection in one film
Colored PPF is designed for drivers who want a new appearance alongside paint protection. The exact construction, finish, and protective features depend on the product selected.
For example, XPEL describes its COLOR PPF as a self-healing urethane film designed to help shield paint while adding a colored finish. Self-healing refers to qualifying light surface marks in the film; it does not repair punctures, deep cuts, dents, or damage beneath it.
We confirm the specific material and its capabilities before installation. Explore XPEL COLOR PPF.
A color beyond the factory choices. For Tesla owners who want a more individual look, colored PPF combines a custom finish with paint protection in one installation.
PPF is built with protection in mind, using a thicker protective construction than typical color-change vinyl. For example, XPEL COLOR PPF is 8 mil thick. Thickness and durability vary by product, so we compare the specific films rather than applying one thickness multiplier to every wrap.
Choose the color with the film in hand
Bring inspiration photos and tell us the look you want. Compare available gloss, satin, matte, or specialty finishes using physical samples, because screen images and lighting can change how a color appears.
We carry and install most major colored PPF brands, including XPEL, STEK, FlexiShield, ULTRAFIT, PURE PPF, Avery Dennison, 3M, and more. Tell us your preferred brand and finish. We confirm color availability, product suitability, and care requirements for the exact film before installation.
Let us know whether you want a complete exterior color change or selected accents, and whether matching an existing color is important.
Colored PPF, vinyl, or clear PPF?
Colored PPF: consider it when changing color and adding a protective film are both priorities.
Vinyl wraps: explore color changes, custom prints, liveries, and commercial graphics. Standard vinyl wrap is primarily a styling material; compare the selected product’s specifications rather than assuming it offers the same protection as PPF. Explore vinyl and print wraps.
Clear PPF: protect the vehicle while retaining its original paint color. Compare our clear PPF coverage packages.
Printed PPF: your design, added protection
Custom graphics with paint protection built in. Rhino can print on compatible printable clear or colored PPF using our HP Latex 730 W printer with white ink capability. This opens up options for custom artwork, branding, accents, and full-vehicle designs while adding a protective film over your paint.
White ink can form a base beneath color or become part of the artwork itself. Depending on the selected media, clear areas can let the original paint show through, while colored PPF can provide the background for the design.
Printed PPF combines the visual impact of a custom wrap with a film designed to help protect against stone chips and road debris. It does not prevent every impact or scratch. Before production, we confirm the printable film, ink and finishing system, coverage, and care requirements. Expected service life and applicable warranty depend on that specific combination, exposure, and maintenance.
Bring us your ideas or reference images, and we will help plan a design and material combination suited to your vehicle.
Plan the details before the color changes
Define the panels. Your quote identifies the exterior surfaces included. Door jambs, inner returns, hidden edges, and other areas are discussed separately; an exterior wrap does not automatically cover every surface visible with the doors open.
Review the finish. We assess paint condition and prior repairs. Film does not repair peeling paint, dents, or chips, and some defects may remain visible.
Discuss installation details. We review seams, edges, corners, emblems, and trim. Edge wrapping depends on the vehicle and selected film; some areas may retain visible original color.
From sample to finished vehicle
- Share the idea. Send vehicle details, photos, preferred colors, and the coverage you have in mind.
- Confirm the scope. We inspect the surface and agree on material, preparation, coverage, and pricing.
- Prepare and install. We prepare the agreed surfaces and install the selected film according to its requirements.
- Review and maintain. At pickup, we explain the finish, initial care, and applicable warranty. Contact Rhino if you notice lifting or anything that concerns you.
Care and warranty depend on your film
Follow the instructions for the exact product installed, including the waiting period before washing. Use compatible cleaners, remove contamination promptly, and take care around film edges. Ask before applying a coating or treatment, especially to matte or satin surfaces.
Your quote identifies the selected manufacturer and product. We explain the applicable warranty, exclusions, and maintenance requirements before booking. A warranty against manufacturing defects is different from coverage for impact damage or improper care.
Before choosing your finish
Colored PPF questions
Pricing depends on vehicle size and complexity, the film, coverage, preparation, and removal of existing material. Send photos and your preferred finish for an initial discussion; we confirm the scope before booking.
Only the agreed surfaces are included. Discuss jambs, inner edges, trim, and other details explicitly if you want a more extensive transformation.
No. Stock and lead times vary by product and finish. We confirm the chosen material’s availability before scheduling.
Professional removal is recommended. The film’s age, paint condition, previous repairs, and removal process affect the outcome. Tell us about repainting or damage before installation.
It may be possible, but aging, finish changes, or manufacturing-batch differences can affect the match. We assess the damaged area and available material before recommending a repair.
A compatible coating may be an option. We check the film and finish first, then explain the added care requirements and price. Explore ceramic coatings.
